Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

QuoteDrop ("we," "us," or "our") provides an AI-powered estimating platform for trade contractors. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website, mobile application, and services (collectively, the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

a. Information You Provide

  • Account data: Name, email address, password, business name, phone number, and trade information when you create an account.
  • Customer data: Customer names, phone numbers, email addresses, and property addresses that contractors enter when creating estimates.
  • Job photos: Photos uploaded for AI analysis during estimate generation.
  • Payment data: Billing information is processed by our payment provider (Stripe) and is never stored on our servers.

b. Information Collected Automatically

  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • IP address and approximate location
  • Pages visited, features used, and session duration
  • Cookies and similar technologies for authentication and preferences

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service
  • Generate AI-powered estimates using photos and job descriptions
  • Send transactional SMS and email notifications (estimate delivery, booking confirmations, job completion notices)
  • Process payments and manage invoices
  • Provide customer support
  • Analyze usage to improve our AI models and user experience
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. SMS Messaging & TCPA Compliance

QuoteDrop provides software that enables trade contractors (the "sending business") to send transactional SMS messages to their own customers. Messages are sent using the contractor's business name and identify the contractor as the sender. QuoteDrop does not send marketing, promotional, or lead-generation SMS to consumers.

a. How consent is collected

Before a contractor sends any SMS through QuoteDrop, the contractor is required to confirm — via an in-app attestation — that the customer has given prior express consent to receive SMS messages from that contractor's business regarding the requested work. Consent is collected by the contractor directly from the customer (verbally on a job site, in writing on a work order, through a booking or quote request, or another documented interaction). QuoteDrop does not purchase, rent, or acquire consumer phone numbers from any third party.

b. Message types and frequency

SMS messages are strictly transactional and relate to an existing job or customer relationship. Message types include: estimate delivery, estimate approval confirmation, appointment and scheduling reminders, invoice delivery, payment receipts, and job completion notices. Frequency varies by job but typically does not exceed a handful of messages per active job.

c. STOP, HELP, and message rates

Consumers may opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message. Replying HELP returns contact information for the sending contractor. Message and data rates may apply; the carrier's standard rates are determined by the consumer's mobile plan. Supported carriers include all major U.S. carriers.

d. No sharing of mobile opt-in data

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in information are never shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers collected by contractors and stored in QuoteDrop are used solely to deliver transactional messages from that contractor to that contractor's customer, and to provide the Service (for example, by routing the message through our SMS carrier, Twilio).

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may share information with:

  • Service providers: Including Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS delivery), Resend (email delivery), Supabase (database), and Anthropic/OpenAI (AI processing). These providers are contractually bound to process data only to provide their service and may not use consumer opt-in information for their own marketing.
  • Contractors and customers: Estimate and invoice data is shared between the contractor who created it and the customer it is addressed to.
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or legal process.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted database storage, and role-based access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Estimate data, invoices, and related records are retained for seven (7) years for tax and legal compliance. Job photos are retained for the duration of your account. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Export your data in a portable format

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@quotedrop.ai.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
